Alpine hacker houses

To incubate one of the coolest projects Bitcoin and P2P technologies, we propose professionally managed hacker houses – or ‘Bases’ – equipped and operated for contributors, located in our start-up locations. The bases can be utilized for short or long stays, based on individual requirements.

Starting with a single location in Whistler, they’ll double-up as operations hubs, that allow early team members to become familiar and acquainted with the local economics and vibe, while building and testing community-driven decentralized solutions.

Freedom Tech Padawans, engineering challenge winners, etc. can come spend time with us, enjoy the shred, and think about how Freedom Tech stacks up as an alternative to Associate Partner at JP Morgan.

The bases should ideally include:

  • Some en-suite private rooms
  • Some rooms or areas for temporary visitors that can be turned into higher density Japanese style capsules or compact rooms
  • A very large communal living and working areas
  • Comfortable office / studio rooms for meetings and creative work
  • Short walking distance to community center, to enable easy access to community facilities, cafes, and other co-working spaces (for change of scenery)
  • Utility rooms
  • Large garage to support early dispatch and fulfillment operations.

There are an abundance of available properties in mountain towns, with areas such as Kadenwood offering direct ski-in ski-out access, as well as a gondola.

To incentivise contributors and potential contributors, the project should be in a position to provide:

  • A lift pass
  • Snowboard / ski lessons & equipment (via the mountain operator)
  • Gym & health club membership (i.e. Meadow Park Sport Center)
  • Arranged transport
  • Medical and other essential support serrvices
  • An option to move to more private satellite accommodation
