Value for Value

A very broad category that’ll need a product vision… so this is probably for the backburner.

The ‘Creator Economy’ is now reckoned to be in the low hundreds-of-billions of dollars, and is set to exceed a trillion in the next 3-5 years. Instagram and TikTok are the most popular venues in Europe and North America.

The ‘Professional Services’ economy overlaps with the ‘Creator Economy’, and while they aren’t synonymous, They can probably be combined under the umbrella of V4V. Categories include:

  • Fitness coaching & training (this is huge)
  • Dieticians
  • Medical
  • Lifestyle coaching (meditation, career advice, etc.)
  • Gardening
  • Language instruction, and other online tuition
  • Music / dance instruction, production, coaching, collaboration etc.
  • Art & crafts
  • Gaming

The product combination of video-on-demand, video streaming, commenting, and direct messaging, are requisites. Tiktok has a native currency (TikTik coins) whereas instagram allows more limited purchases using legacy credit/debit card.

There’s also an opportunity to provide ‘discovery’ services for activities that happen offline. i.e. snowboard instruction, city walking tours, yoga etc.

Bitcoin is a natural and obvious payment method for creators, since it eliminates a great deal of friction, particularly for international cross-currency payments.

Ark and Lightning offer the opportunity for ‘streaming money’, which further widens the scope of potential activities. The product vision will need to be appropriate risk-averse, ethical, and align with project objectives.

A tactical product release might include a directory of a small number (perhaps a few dozen) high quality Fitness content creators, with established reputations and a personal training product. An initial product might be to allow users pay sats to book an open slot in their calendar:

Introducing popular creators (maybe 10,000 – 500,000 followers) to the bitcoin ecosystem – at scale – will likely unleash a significant network effect for bitcoin and adjacent freedom technologies. Creators could be provided with a ‘Myspace’ style profile page (i.e. paywithbitcoin.com/cartbruh/) which could be placed into their social media profiles. A revenue stream could be derived by taking a small percentage of each transaction (perhaps 5% via prism payment or similar).

Listed below are some fitness creators that are likely match our early target demographic:
